Dallas ISD recognizes unsung heroes through ‘Brag On A Bus Driver’ initiative

Dallas ISD is looking to recognize its bus drivers for the hard work they do through a new “Brag  On A Bus Driver” initiative.

Feb. 22 is National School Bus Driver Appreciation Day, which is a time to recognize those who make sure students safely get to and from school. As part of the district’s new Brag On Bus Driver initiative, bus drivers this semester are giving out business cards with QR codes–while also having a QR code sticker on the outside of the bus–so parents, students, campus staff and other stakeholders can easily complete a survey through Let’s Talk and spotlight outstanding service from district bus drivers.

“The truth is that the hard work our bus drivers do every day can go overlooked and unnoticed, and we want to make sure they get the recognition they deserve,” said Jaime Sandoval, executive director of Student Transportation Services.

The 10 bus drivers with the most positive recognitions through the survey will receive a gift and special recognition at the end of the year.

“This is a small token of appreciation to let our bus drivers know how much we value their tireless work,” Sandoval said.
