Campuses are saluting their 2020 teachers of the year for devotion and dedication to their students and colleagues. The Teacher of the Year selection process provides campuses the opportunity to showcase their most effective teachers. See the list of the campus teachers of the year here.

“It is truly inspiring to see these amazing educators be recognized by their peers for their work in this unusual year, and we are proud to honor the best-of-the-best in Dallas ISD,” said Dr. Cynthia Wilson, Chief of Human Capital.

The campus teachers of the year are being honored for their work maximizing growth opportunities for students of all backgrounds; collaborating with colleagues, students and families to create a culture of respect and success; connecting in positive ways with their school community; engaging in leadership opportunities; and expressing themselves with skill and poise.

Ooh’s and ah’s were the general reaction from the honorees this week when school leadership executives arrived on campus to present them with attractive gift boxes. The packages of goodies were the district’s way of expressing appreciation to the teachers for their many contributions to their individual campuses and the district.

Each honoree now has the opportunity to apply to be considered for the district teacher of the year. Based on the teachers’ applications, the district selection committee will name nine finalists from three categories by campus type and school level. One winner will be selected to represent the elementary, secondary and choice/magnet campuses. The finalists and winners will be honored at a special event next spring.
