Dallas ISD Homeless Education Program is now part of the Let’s Talk! Initiative

Dallas ISD’s Homeless Education Program (HEP) is committed to finding new ways to build strong relationships with the district’s staff, students and families. For this reason, the program is being added to the second phase of implementation of the Let’s Talk! Initiative.

Students and families that face housing insecurity—particularly in the context of COVID-19—can click here or visit the HEP website to submit their questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. A representative of Homeless Education Program will then be notified and will reply in a timely manner.

“The Homeless Education Program is excited to be included as part of the Let’s Talk! online communication tool.”  Ashley Marshall, manager of HEP, said. “Now parents and students that might be at risk of losing their house or are living in a homeless situation can contact us directly to get answers, referrals to services, and available resources.”

Let’s Talk! is a tool implemented earlier this year that allows users to contact several Dallas ISD’s departments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With this tool, district’s representatives are available via any digital device and a response is guaranteed.
