The Dallas ISD Career and Technical Education Department celebrated an amazing night hosting 200 parents and students for the NAF Parent Internship information dinner at Kimball High School.

This event on Dec. 3 was one of multiple nights in which the CTE Team, along with partners from NAF, held the event that consisted of a spaghetti dinner, internship presentation and question and answer session to inform parents and students about the internship program with NAF.

Last summer, CTE and NAF placed over 800 students in internships across the Dallas area. CTE and NAF partner with companies such as Capital One, Baylor, Scott & White and Verizon to provide Dallas ISD juniors with internship opportunities. Dallas ISD currently has 50 NAF academies in 20 high schools – serving over 10,000 students. NAF academies are theme-based. Themes include Academies of Engineering, Academies of Finance, Academies of Health Sciences, Academies of Hospitality and Tourism, and Academies of Information Technology.

Dallas ISD has 13 Distinguished Academies of 49 across the United States and one Model academy. Distinguished is the highest level awarded by NAF.
