Update on next steps for schools impacted by Sunday’s storm

Updated Oct. 23: Due to ongoing power outages, Dallas ISD is canceling classes at the following schools, Wednesday, Oct. 23 for students: Cary Middle School, Dealey Montessori, Franklin Middle School, Hillcrest High School, Kramer Elementary School, Jose “Joe” May Elementary School, Francisco Medrano Middle School

Original story: A decision will be made by 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 on whether the following campuses will reopen for students that day:

  • Dealey Montessori
  • Franklin Middle School
  • Hillcrest High School
  • Kramer Elementary School
  • Jose “Joe” May Elementary School
  • Medrano Middle School

Students from Cary Middle School have been assigned to Franklin and Medrano middle schools. A decision will be made by 4 a.m. on whether Franklin and Medrano are open tomorrow.

Students from Burnet and Cigarroa elementary schools on Oct. 23 will attend Loos Field House, 3815 Spring Valley Road. A decision will be made by 4 a.m. on Oct. 23 on whether students who attend Pershing Elementary will attend their home campus or Loos Field House that day.

Also on Oct. 23, students from Thomas Jefferson High School will begin attending Thomas Edison and students from Walnut Hill Elementary will begin attending Tom Field Elementary.
