Learning continues during the summer and Dallas ISD offers more than 100 program opportunities

Summer time is around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to take a break and relax. This time of year is also the perfect time to enjoy fun-filled enrichment activities.

Filling the summer with hands-on, enriching activities will not only keep students productively engaged, but will also help retain the academic learned during the school year.

To help prevent summer loss, Dallas ISD is partnering with the city of Dallas, libraries and nonprofits throughout the city to offer hundreds of summer programs and enrichment opportunities for students of all ages.

The summer activities will range from dance, sports, band and leadership camps, to robotics, reading and art programs.

Families can learn about and register students for these and other free activities at the Discover Summer Fair set for 9 a.m. to noon, Sat., April 27, at Billy Earl Dade Middle School, 2727 Al Lipscomb Way.

The summer camps and learning opportunities will reinforce what students learned during the school year through hands-on and enriching fun activities, in a safe and productive environment.

All summer programs are free of cost. To learn about this and other summer program opportunities around Dallas ISD, visit dallasisd.org/discoversummer.  Registration is based on a first-come, first-served basis. Enrollment dates vary per program and campus.
