Dallas ISD fathers and father figures drafted to All-Pro Dad Initiative

The NFL draft is a big deal for anyone who dreams of playing professional football, but for dads in Dallas ISD, the draft took on a more important meaning as hundreds of them across the district gathered to launch the All-Pro Dad Initiative.
The dads and father figures huddled last night at Justin F. Kimball High School as they were each drafted into the program designed to increase male engagement throughout the district and build a strong network of fathers and father figures to support students and each other. During the event, dads from each feeder pattern were announced and welcomed to the stage to rousing cheers and high-fives from other dads. Of course cheerleaders, drum majors and the pulsating beats of the Kimball Knights drumline set the stage for an exciting time.
Through this initiative, dads and father figures agree to get more engaged in their children’s lives by adopting a One + One + One strategy straight from the Dallas ISD Dads for Kids playbook. That’s one minute a day, one hour a month, and one time a year with their children–learning, mentoring, and guiding.
