Ribbon-Cutting celebrates new Anne Frank Early Childhood Center

Parents, community members, school staff and students recently marked the opening of the new Anne Frank Early Childhood Center with a ribbon-cutting. The celebration is the first of several planned to mark the growth of Dallas ISD’s school choice and early learning programs.

Board of Trustees President Edwin Flores thanked the North Dallas community for its strong support for district schools, which he said has contributed to improving academic achievement. Chief of Staff Pamela Lear said the classroom addition and the growth of choice programs across Dallas ISD are signs of the district’s commitment to high-quality education. She called prekindergarten one of the best investments Dallas ISD can make in the city’s future.

Anne Frank Principal Beverly Ford said her staff is ecstatic about the 156 students who have enrolled in the school’s pre-K program, now housed in the new 16,000-square-foot early childhood addition. The space is located on the west side of the existing school and includes an administrative area, clinic, and classrooms outfitted with the latest educational technology. The building is also equipped with security technology, a circular drop-off lane and parking area. Its four, bright, colorful classrooms are framed by large windows that provide natural light and expansive outdoor views flanked by two playground areas.

BRW Architects, builder Construction Zone and Dallas ISD Construction Services comprised the team that created the $4 million addition.

Future ribbon-cuttings for new pre-K and public school choice campuses include:
