Dallas ISD students interview for paid summer internships at special event

0

More than 300 Dallas ISD high school juniors and seniors participated in workshops and interviews with local companies to help them secure paid summer internships.

The students learned tips from company representatives and former interns, and then sat down one-on-one to interview for internships with companies such as Capital One, Verizon, Hilton and others. They also talked with representatives from colleges and universities about education options after high school graduation.

The event was sponsored by Capital One and NAF, which is a national network of education, business and community leaders who help ensure high school students are college-, career- and future-ready. The NAF academies of finance, engineering, information technology, hospitality & tourism, and health sciences from about 15 Dallas ISD high schools were invited.
