Application window open for Dallas ISD collegiate academies

0

The application window is open for current eighth-graders interested in attending a Dallas ISD collegiate academy. Students who attend a collegiate academy can earn up to 60 hours of college credit or an associate degree—at no cost to them—concurrently while earning a high school diploma.

Dallas ISD launched seven collegiate academies and a P-TECH at existing high schools this school year. The district next school year will launch an additional 10 collegiate academies.

“These collegiate academies add to existing district programs that are successfully making college a reality and supporting career-readiness even before students graduate from high school,” said Israel Cordero, Chief Strategic Officer of Dallas ISD’s Strategic Initiatives and External Relations department.

Current eighth-graders may complete and submit online applications for their preferred collegiate academy or early college high school through Jan. 31. The process also includes a student interview.

Each collegiate academy has a college partner and career pathway.
