See how sophomores at the Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy took a big step forward on their path to success after high school. (Learn more)

The community and State Fair of Texas came together to provide every senior at Madison and Lincoln high schools with the chance to complete the Common Black College Application for free. (Learn more)

Books Are the Beginning donated two free books to every student Hooe Elementary. (Learn more)

Toys for students

The social outreach arm of the Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship donated a toy to every student at the Martin Weiss School of Leadership. (Watch this)

KLIF helps out

Meanwhile, KLIF 570 AM gave out toys to every student at the Martin Luther King Jr. Learning Center and donated a $20,000 check to the school. (Read this)

Technology upgrade for Roosevelt feeder pattern

Ruel Hamilton, CEO and founder of AmeriSouth Realty, donated more than $100,000 to upgrade technology in schools in the Roosevelt High School feeder pattern. (Watch this)

KPMG’s Family for Literacy

Volunteers from KPMG’s Family for Literacy gave away three books each to the more than 900 students at Hotchkiss Elementary. (Read this)

Carpenter Elementary’s library gets makeover

Behr and the Heart of America Foundation rejuvenated the library at John Carpenter Elementary School to encourage a love of reading. (Read this)

Planning grant for social and emotional learning

The Wallace Foundation has awarded Dallas ISD and its partner Big Thought with a joint planning grant of $400,000 to develop students social and emotional intelligence skills. (Read this)

Free meals for students over the break

Over the holiday break, everyone under the age of 18 can get a free morning snack and lunch at one of 11 Dallas ISD schools. (Learn where and when)

A heartwarming surprise 

Valerie, a private in the U.S. Army and Woodrow graduate, surprised her mom, a teacher at Multiple Careers Magnet, in the classroom. (Watch this)
