Veterans explore Dallas ISD career opportunities

W.H. Adamson High School was recently the site of a career expo for area military veterans to learn about the variety of job opportunities available in Dallas ISD.

Any veterans of military service or their spouses were invited to come to the event to speak with representatives from several district departments. Dallas ISD Police, Compass Alternative Certification, the Substitute Office, and Food and Child Nutrition were just a few of the groups on hand to discuss their departments and the different diverse skill sets each group requires.

Veteran John Willis has been out of the Air Force for 15 years, and is searching for a new challenge. “I have a law degree, a background in business and technology, have worked in organizational human resources, but when I saw this expo I thought it could lead to some interesting new opportunities,” he said.
