What are you doing now?

I’m a sports agent and owner of AC Sports Management, LLC, where I negotiate contracts for professional athletes.

Briefly list a few of your career and/or personal highlights.

  • Forbes 30 Under 30 (Sports)
  • Author, ‘i’ A Guide for Young Entrepreneurs

What was your favorite subject or activity/involvement in high school?

Varsity basketball, hands down. Every practice, every game brought a new challenge, or experience for our squad. Although we held ourselves individually accountable for our play on the court, we learned how to work as a cohesive unit and push each other. We had great leadership from Dominique Kirk (Texas A&M University).

Who was your favorite teacher?

Mignon Hansford and Dr. James Reed. Outside of my parents, those two individuals were extremely influential in my upbringing. Ms. Hansford brought out my creative side and put me on the spot as much as she possibly could. Dr. Reed was very flamboyant and popular. He was on TV, in the newspaper and magazines. He helped me create a vision. I wanted his popularity and stature.

What advice, if any, would you offer to high school students today?

Make good decisions and treat everyone as if they are an opportunity toward something great. Understand who you are. Follow your passion and do things the right way.

College/University and degree earned:

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, 2009
