Superintendent Hinojosa’s holiday message to the community

0

The support of parents and citizens is essential to the success of a school district. Since returning to Dallas ISD, I have been uplifted by the enthusiastic reception and encouragement I have received from parents, business and civic leaders, educators and citizens.

In this holiday season, I count as priceless gifts the parents who entrust our schools with their children, the businesses that invest in our students, citizens who engage in the challenging issues facing education, and educators who devote hours of service to our students’ success.

Your support ensured the passage of the 2015 bond program, a much-needed package of school improvements. Your engagement let us know you wanted more pre-kindergarten programs and school choice options. Your confidence in our leadership gave us the space and courage to enact the Teacher Excellence Initiative. As we move forward with these and other initiatives, such as preparing our students to graduate workforce ready by increasing access to more and better career and technical education, we will continue to count on your support and engagement.

On behalf of our 150,000 students and 20,000 employees, please accept our sincere appreciation for all you do to make Dallas ISD a great place for children.
