Free parent workshops help families address drugs, study skills, bullying

The Dallas ISD Office of Family and Community Engagement is hosting multiple free parent workshops this fall.

All district families are invited to the workshops, where Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Here are the scheduled fall workshops:

Oct. 20: How to get more engaged in my child’s education, 9:30 a.m. at Ebby Halliday Elementary School and 6 p.m. at Kennedy-Curry Middle School

Oct. 21: Parenting skills: Building your child’s self-esteem, 9:30 a.m. at Victor H. Hexter Elementary School

Oct 21: Engage in your child’s learning through leadership skills, 6 p.m. at Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship Academy at James W. Fannin

Oct. 22: Developing studying skills and maximizing homework time, 9:30 a.m. at John F. Peeler Elementary School

Oct. 22: Sexting: Tips to keep kids safe, 6 p.m. at Clinton P. Russell Elementary School

Oct. 27: Setting limits: Discipline tips for parents, 9:30 a.m. at Preston Hollow Elementary School

Oct. 27: Motivating your child to succeed, 9:30 a.m. at Roger Q. Mills Elementary School

Oct. 28: Time to talk about drugs, 6 p.m. at George Washington Carver Elementary School

Oct. 28: Bullying prevention and positive behavior support, 6 p.m. at Louise Wolff Kahn Elementary School

Oct. 29: Motivating your child to succeed, 9:30 a.m. at Ann Richards Middle School

Oct. 29: How to get more engaged in my children’s education, 9:30 a.m. at John B. Hood Middle School

Oct. 29: What parents need to know about discipline, truancy and the student code of conduct, 9:30 a.m. at L.G. Pinkston High School
