Following on the heels of Dallas ISD’s record-breaking job fair held in March, the Human Capital Management (HCM) department is gearing up for another massive event to ensure all district classrooms start the 2015-2016 school year with an effective teacher at the helm. From 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, April 11, all 226 Dallas ISD schools will convene at Emmett J. Conrad High School in their search for highly qualified teacher candidates.

Nearly 1,200 candidates attended the March job fair, and over 400 of them received job offers. “For this upcoming event, we have a goal of getting over 1,000 teacher candidates to come out, meet with our campus principals and interview for district teaching positions,” said Jordan Carlton, talent leader for HCM.

“It was wonderful to see such a great turnout at our last event and to see so many job offers take place, and we would love to see it happen again!” Carlton said. The district continues to search for candidates qualified to lead elementary bilingual and secondary science and math classrooms.

Representatives from Compass, the district’s alternative certification program, will also be in attendance. The program searches for top talent within the community and prepares them to be effective teachers. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, an overall graduate or undergraduate GPA of at least 2.75 and a desire to inspire Dallas ISD students.
