Robert E. Lee Elementary School opened its doors to the community during a special open house the morning of Nov. 11.
The event was an effort led by Council members Phillip Kingston and Adam Medrano to re-introduce Robert E. Lee Elementary School to the community it proudly serves. Visitors were treated to welcome messages from a variety of speakers, including Board president Miguel Solis, Superintendent Mike Miles and new principal Bridget Ransom. Community businesses donated coffee and pastries to supplement the event. As a welcome, the parent group at the school presented Ms. Ransom with a basket that included gift cards, which she provided to the school’s Dad’s Club for its use during the school year.
Following the presentation, held in front of the school, visitors were led on 15-minute tours where they could see teaching in learning in action.
