Skyline High School football’s hard work and successes have thrust the team into national spotlight with an 18th best composite ranking among high school football teams in the country this season.

The composite ranking is an average of the team’s rating across various outlets including Max Preps and USA Today. Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Today ranks the team fourth in the state behind Allen, De Soto and Southlake Carroll, respectively, in Texas UIL Class 6A football and second in the area.

Currently, the team is in first place in district 9-6A, the Raiders are 11-0 on the season as of Oct. 20. The team is expected to make a deep play-off run with a roster full of college hopefuls like Kylan Johnson and Daleon Ward.

In 2012, Max Preps listed the Raiders as the 4th ranked high school football team in the country. Skyline football has participated in the state playoffs every year since the arrival of Head Football Coach Reginald Samples in 2004, accumulating 19 playoff wins in six seasons. The Raiders have won six straight district titles in the last six years, losing only one district game during this six-year span.
