Student officers ready to lead Teen Board

0

The Dallas ISD Teen Board has reconvened for 2014-2015. At the beginning of every school year, Dallas ISD high schools elect presidents for their junior and senior classes. Those leaders form the Dallas Teen School Board.

Students who participate in the Teen Board have the opportunity to exercise leadership skills while working with district administrators and board members concerning issues from their respective school campuses. They also learn to serve as mediators between their schools, the superintendent and the Board of Trustees to address student concerns and to share ideas for improving services and programs offered to students. In addition, the Teen Board also participates in community service projects.

The Teen Board will elect officers for the 2014-2015 school year during its November meeting.
