This summer, Frigo Cheese asked their fans (called Frigo Cheese Heads) to submit essays touting how $4,000 could make a difference at their school. Central Elementary School Assistant Principal Kasie Jackson heard about the competition and decided to apply for a chance at the Frigo Cheese Heads Build a Bright Future promotion.
The school was recently selected as a Top 10 finalist in the competition, earning them a guaranteed award of $1,000. Based on online voting, five schools will win an additional $3,000 to use for their project. In Central’s case, that would mean more technology in the classrooms for students to integrate into every content and subject area. “Scholars would gain blended learning skills that will prepare them for college and any career where collaboration, innovation, and creativity are at play,” said Jackson.
Jackson pointed out that with these funds the school could purchase 15 to 18 Google Chromebooks for students, which would also “help increase their time on district-mandated software programs such as Reasoning Minds and IStation, preparing them for the next grade level.”
Online voting will determine which five schools will receive the additional $3,000 awards. You can support Central Elementary by casting your vote on the Frigo Cheese Heads Facebook page daily until Oct. 31.
