Students from several Dallas Independent School District schools have recently been named among some of the most prestigious scholars in the country. The honors include National Merit, National Achievement and Texas AP State Scholar acknowledgements.
National Merit Scholar Program
Students are recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Program after taking the previous year’s Preliminary National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which serves as an initial screen of program applicants. To become a finalist, each semifinalist must submit a detailed scholarship application, have an outstanding academic record and submit endorsement letters written on their behalf. National Merit Scholarship winners will be selected from this group of finalists based on their skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
