Surprise gift hits home for employee, Army vet (video)

Trista Hopkins, a cafeteria worker at Edward H. Cary Middle School and U.S. Army veteran, was proceeding through a normal workday on Sept. 24 at the school when the non-profit Rebuilding Together Greater Dallas surprised her with the announcement that she is the latest beneficiary of its Homes 4 Heroes program.  Cafeteria surprise2

As a result, Hopkins’ two-bedroom home is going to be completely remodeled and rebuilt. WFAA Channel 8 reporter Demond Fernandez covered the emotional scene at Cary Middle.
