District to seek feedback about expanded public school choice through community survey

The Dallas Independent School District is seeking input from parents and community members through a survey launched today as it explores opening 35 additional public choice schools and programs by 2020.

Beginning Sept. 24, the school choice survey will be available for the next month via the main page of the Dallas ISD website at www.dallasisd.org. Feedback gained from this survey will be used to help shape and guide decisions on what kinds of new schools will be added, or existing schools converted, to provide more educational options and opportunities for students.

“The transformation of Dallas ISD is a community effort, and this is one very important and exciting way people can help,” said Mike Miles, Superintendent of Schools for Dallas ISD. “We want to empower our neighborhood schools to provide parents and students with more options and choices that best meet student needs. We urge all community members, whether or not they are a Dallas ISD parent, to take part in this survey to help shape the future of our schools.”
