Kroger’s Stuff the School Bus leaves students feeling the loveEvery year, Kroger, in conjunction with other community partners, donates thousands of dollars in school supplies to Dallas ISD schools; this summer was no exception. Forty-eight Dallas ISD schools started the school off right with free backpacks and school supplies worth $87,250, thanks to the efforts of KDFW FOX 4, Kroger, Coca-Cola and Clear Channel Radio. The organizations teamed up for the Stuff the School Bus collection drive, which kicked off July 30 and ended August 17.  Students enjoy their backpacks.

During the 19-day program, shoppers had the opportunity to visit any area Kroger store to donate a pre-packaged school supply kit for $7 or make a $1 donation at checkout. The collection drive surpassed its initial goal of equipping 30,000 local children with the necessary tools for a successful school year. This year, more than 44,000 deserving students in the DFW area received school supplies, as a result of the efforts of the Stuff the Bus project.

John Q. Adams Elementary gave a special thanks to Kroger for their donation with a school presentation featuring cheers, songs and handmade posters. See pictures from the J.Q. Adams event here.
